100th Anniversary of Sergo Parajanov

On February 9, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with the Embassies of Georgia, Armenia and Ukraine, organized the movie screening to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the worldwide acclaimed Director Sergo Parajanov. During the event, Parajanov’s one of the outstanding masterpieces, “The Color of Pomegranates”, was shown.

Ambassadors of Georgia and Armenia and the representative of the Embassy of Ukraine addressed the distinguished audience. The Diplomats highlighted the importance of Parajanov’s art, which meaningfully contributed to the filmmaking on international level and talked about suppressions from the Soviet regime against the Director. It was mentioned that Parajanov’s life and work was significantly connected to the three countries.

Members of the Georgian, Armenian and Ukrainian Diaspora, as well as Czech society, attended the movie screening.
