Meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign, Defense and Security Committee of the Senate of the Czech Republic
On May 17, 2023, the Ambassador of Georgia to the Czech Republic, Thea Maisuradze, held an introductory meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign, Defense and Security Committee of the Senate of the Czech Republic, Pavel Fischer.
The conversation at the meeting touched on the fruitful cooperation established between the parliaments of the two countries and the positive dynamics of the exchange of visits. In this context, the visit of the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia to Prague was highlighted, as well as the planned joint visit of the speakers of the Slavkov-format parliaments to Georgia.
Within the framework of the meeting, the ambassador spoke about the European integration process of Georgia, the implementation of 12 recommendations of the European Union, the implemented reforms and the importance of granting Georgia the status of a candidate country for the European Union. Also, the conversation touched on the dynamics of Euro-Atlantic integration of Georgia, the planned NATO summit in Vilnius and the impact of the current Russian aggression in Ukraine on the security of the region.
