In August 2008, thousand of Russian troops and armor rolled into Georgia, as the Russian aviation was pounding country’s military, infrastructural and civilian targets. Four years on, Georgia stands strong in asserting its identity as a liberal, democratic state, its economy is surging ahead and the government works hard to take care of the persons displaced during the conflict. Our friends stood by us in 2008. We need their support still so that those residing in 20% of our territory occupied by Russia can partake in and benefit from the progress Georgia has achieved (By Grigol Vashadze, Foreign Minister of Georgia).

Publication date: 2013-04-22 Official visit of the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia

On April 16-18, 2013, H.E. Mr. David Usupashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, paid an official visit to the Czech Republic. The visit took place on invitation of H.E. Mr. Milan Štěch, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, as a reciprocation to the latter’s official trip to Georgia in April 2012.
